Tylers Saturday boy set for stardom as he takes to the stage at the Edinburgh Fringe

Local lad and Tylers employee Jack Archer has just finished his GCSE’s and whilst most boys his age are looking forward to a lazy summer, Jack is gearing up to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Almost as soon as Jack could walk he was treading the boards as a member of Stage Coach. Whilst performing there, aged 11, his budding talent was spotted by Sara Lim-Smith who invited him to join her musical theatre group – Infrared Comedy Theatre.

Infrared performs original material all written, choreographed and produced by Sara. They regularly perform at the Duchess theatre in Long Eaton and have seen their fan base grow each season.

This year they have taken the plunge and are attending the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and will be performing an original piece written especially for the Fringe – The Estate.

The musical comedy focuses on two women living on an estate, their trials and tribulations as they struggle to pay their bills, claim benefits and try to get jobs.

The play will be on at the Greenside theatre, Edinburgh from the 18-23 August, however, there is a special preview evening for friends, family and supporters on Wednesday 13 August at Loughborough Brush Club.

The preview is a chance for the group to thank everyone who has supported them.

Jack explained: “Sara is amazing and has written, choreographed and produced such as fantastic play for us all. Getting to the Fringe is an ambition for all of us.

“The preview night will be a first chance for us to see the audience’s reaction to the play and should be a really fun evening too.

Tickets for the evening are available from any cast member, or from Sara’s studio on 0115 710 110.
